my shop computer keeps random shutdowns all the time, and also i get some stupid pop ups once in a while, im tryin to talk my dad into buying new ones but he wont listen. im running xp here, and have used cc cleaners, avast, aviria and avg, one picked up one thing but it still does it, what should i try now?

put it in a box, put it outside the front door, when he finds it he will prolly say “whys the computer outside in a box” in which u reply with “why do you think fucking things a piece of shit”. then he has two decisions. buy a new one or no computer.

problem solved you can thank me later

lol intel i already told him they were a piece of shit, there fuckin 5 yrs old!!!! but he dont belive me plus we are slow right now and dont have extra money so maybe i’ll wait until we get busy again

If it were me I’d reinstall windows. Gets rid of any nasties that have gotten in and it’ll feel a hell of a lot faster!

quite obvious weanis, but since our mitchell program is on both computer and sharing to mine and i dont know how to set that back up i wanted to try and fix it first before i spent all weekend down here!!!

but anways avast started freaking out today so it restarted and scanned it found 37 infected files and fixed it, seems to be working tits now!! avast for the win!

man, get ur pops to give u a budget to build ur own comp. u have a monitor and keyboard and cdrom. buy a decent speed hdd (sacrifice hdd size for speed imo), a budget AMD mobo, a decent AMD chip, n a ~$200 card. Bam, thats like $500 n you will have a nice running comp. Just convince your dad its like working on cars. Its skill building.

oh n often newegg.com has combo deals that put together the parts n make it really easy to choose parts. http://www.newegg.com/Store/MasterComboStore.aspx?StoreID=7&name=DIY-PC-Combos
