NoobBuffet “Yeah, we don't know either...”

So Ive brought this up to Farmer and Handi a few times, but they tend to just ignore me, but who can really blame them, anyways, wanted to see if there would be any interest in anything like this.

Here’s the deal, in as few words as possible.

I have a private server, on Fridays and Saturdays my kids don’t use it. If anyone would be interested in seeing how the comp side of tf2 is, we’d be willing to open the server up for 6v6 pugs from the community, you know, the old school dodge ball style of picking teams, and such. 2 of our members are also mentors from the community fortress mentor program, so if people would prefer a brief walk though on how things go before hand, I’m sure they can explain thing better than me yelling “HEY SHOOT THE DUDE OVER THERE”.

In any case, 6v6 is a totally different scene than the random crit spam that is pubbing, and its something you should really experience just to see what you think of it.

Give me a yell if you’d be interested in this.

We do not ignore you. We ask people all the time. Most of the people we play with do not want to play seriously.

I have scrimmed with Fish before so has Nick and some others. 10% of the people we play with might enjoy pugging. The rest prolly wouldn’t.

Im not asking anyone to take this seriously, im just offering an opportunity to see a different side of tf2, hell, i can already see one of the teams in this running 2 heavies, a media, 2 engies, and a pyro. And you know what? that would be awesome. What I want to see out of this, is just people experiencing a different aspect of the game.And if only 10% actually do enjoy it, hell, if only 5% actually enjoy it, then our job here is done. Comp tf2 needs fresh blood, it needs new people to at least give it a shot, it doesn’t matter if they stay, it just matters that they have fun.

And thats all im asking, you give an hour or so of your weekend to give something new a try, to grab a drink, and to have fun.

I’m down for this but I haven’t been around much lately and I take no personal initiative for the most part.

Actually, I’d be pretty interested in participating. My only concern would be the exact time the game would occur.

I’d like to try PuGs sometimes :) Although I’m not a great TF2 player <.< I’ve always found the comp side of TF2 to be very interesting :P

This actually worked out tonight, had to bring in a few people from outside the community, so could use a few more people who are interested.

Got in 2 scrims before people had to go, we tried scrambling teams after the first match, but the force was with the scouts.

We’ll try again tomorrow if anyone is interested.

I had a great time when we did it last Friday.

Hopefully we can get more people and this can be a regular thing, I’m all for it.

I couldn’t make it, had plans, but I’m down tonight.

There was like no one online Friday night thats why the servers didn’t fill well. I am not sure that anyone was even on to pug it was so bad. You guys should have better luck this week.

Going to start trying to get this going again, we lost our server for a few weeks due to it being a piece of shit, we have a new one now, so to those who are interested let me know by Thursday, so I don’t have to go trying to find people to play in a last minute panic.
